had already shown a good hand….

The
notion of reversing still remains a mystery to many although I do not know why.
Suffice it to say that East shows a strong hand when he rebids 2H over his
partner’s 1S response and should pass the conversion to 3C. Generally, after a
response at the one-level, a reverse by opener is forcing only to 2NT or suit
agreement and here West has done nothing wrong to introduce the spade suit and
palpably nothing wrong in supporting clubs. In other words East mustn’t show
his good hand twice and must instead know when to stop.
