Leaving well alone is all
very fine but sometimes it is hard to diagnose. Certainly it was for me on the

bid ably to a reasonable contract and had I passed it out sitting West then
almost certainly we would have gained a penalty of anything up to 400 points
depending on how the play went. But no! the lure of the six-card suit was hard
to resist and while 2C was allowed to make with two overtricks it was scant
reward for what might have been. In my defence I can only say I would do the
same again!
Would you consider a weak jump overcall of 3C as a non-vulnerable West?
ReplyDeleteYes I would. Although I didn't. But I would today. Must have been asleep - too many rotten hands!
