did really well to bid this cold game with both players showing good judgement.
It would be all too easy to give up early on that West hand but if you look at
it again it is about an eight-loser (you take a loser off for no first round
control). Similarly East has a six-loser hand despite only holding eleven
points making it quite right and proper to bid the game. The hands fit well and
the trump suit behaves and eleven tricks roll in!
